RESOLUTIONS

RESOLUTIONS
Let me start by saying WELCOME TO 2013, my name is Ose and I love you  J . 2012 was a great year I must say, a year of so much joy and sorrow alike. A year when some lost their loved ones and others met new ones. A year people expected different things. Some got them while others didn’t and as you can see, the world didn’t end.  J .
Its 2013!  First of all, we have to put away all our sorrows. Keep trying that thing, though you didn’t get it in 2012, trust me, you can in this New Year. The rest is bla bla bla… I can keep on talking about all that till forever.
Well, today, the first day of the year 2013, I will be talking about RESOLUTIONS. What is a resolution??  The simplest meaning of a resolution is: a decision.  What have you decided to do this 2013? What have you? What is it you hope to get this year? What have you made up your mind stop doing? What is that thing you hope to have finally dropped by the end of 2013? The funny thing about resolutions is the way people make them at the beginning of the year. Most of the time, if follows the popular saying ‘‘it’s easier said than done’’ well, I want you to remember that there is something known as will power. If you don’t just make resolutions because people are but because you have decided to change some of your ways and you really follow those resolutions, then you have done the right thing. It’s the first day of a new year. I did ask a few people about their own resolutions. For me, I hope to increase my hours of reading, swallow my pride and make more friends in 2013.  I did ask some other people what their resolutions are check out what they said. J

GOLD, FRANKINCENSE AND MYRRH

Its Christmas again….. ye!! Woo!! La!! Etc…………  Yea, it’s Christmas, the season of red and green. The celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. I am pretty sure you must have heard the story more than a million times. Ok, maybe not up to a million but very many times. Jesus was born in Bethlehem, etc… but that’s not what I want to talk about. If you want to know that story, open your Bible to the book of Matthew 1:1-25 and 2:1-23 you will see the full story of His birth there.
When Jesus was born, three wise men came to present gifts to him. They gave him GOLD, FRANKINCENSE AND MYRRH. The gold represents his kingship, the frankincense, his divinity and the myrrh, his death. But now, I am going to relate these three gifts to our own daily lives.

Gold signifies kingship, royalty i.e. authority.   An authority is a right to command. How do you treat people who work under you? In your place of work, your house, or even in school as a prefect. Do you because you hold power treat people like shit? Do you treat people like beings or like things? With disdain? Don’t forget that with authority comes power and a bit of freedom, and with freedom comes responsibility. Do you because of that position feel people are inferior to you? That’s pride bro. don’t forget that even Jesus, the reason for our celebration today with all the authority and power he had humbled himself so much that he was even born in a manger.
The frankincense represents his DIVINITY. What does it mean to be divine? It means to be god-like. When you are god-like, people look up to you, they expect different things from you; they see you as superior and respect, obey and even adore you. How do you take that position? Do you allow it to enter your head and then treat them anyhow? How well do you discharge your duties? Do you enjoy the power and leave those people to suffer?  What do you do when they trust you with their possessions, money and even their lives? Do you throw caution to the wind and do what you wish? Jesus didn’t do that. He brought people together, treated people well and never disappointed those who looked up to him.
The third gift: MYRRH represents His death. Death could mean demise, ruin, downfall, mortality, casualty, bereavement, loss, end, fall, etc. how do you treat this when it comes? Definitely, at one point or the other in lives, we face difficult challenges; business difficulties, death of a loved one, loss of a job, serious sickness, etc. how do we manage them when they occur? Do you take it out on the people around you? Shout on them like they caused it? Show so much depression? Lol… though this may sound really foolish, but as a former classmate of mine(www.moyosmiles.wordpress.com) will always say,         ” just smile, no matter what happens”, I will tell you to smile, try to be happy, think straight and trust me, all will be well. Remember that Jesus whose death we caused didn’t take it out on us even when God turned away His face from Him. In short, he promised to come and take us back to his kingdom: heaven.
Let us remember that Jesus was never proud, he never disappointed people, didn’t even fall when tempted and he didn’t take his death out on us. I really hope we can do the same and walk perfectly in God’s sight.
I wish you a merry Christmas. Remember, Ose loves you and God loves you more. You are always free to share, reblog and comment. Merry  Christmas.

CHRISTMAS

The words of my mouth cannot even express how happy I am that this semester is finally over. Let me start by apologizing to you all, I know you haven’t been seeing a lot of me around lately. I told you, it was because school work has been really stressful and time consuming. This semester was great, I made a lot of new people, made a whole lot of friends, tried to forget about some people(which obviously, hasn’t worked yet) and of most importance, learnt a whole lot about swallowing one’s pride.    I have a break and will be going home very soon. I presume most schools are through with their first term and semester exams (whichever one you fall into) how was yours? Hope you read well and did pass. As for me, my exams will be in January.
Today is 22nd  December, 2012 and it is exactly three days to Christmas. How do you plan to celebrate yours? Are you travelling? Going out with your family? Planning a treat for your wife or girlfriend? Or even planning to ask that girl to marry you? Feel free to share. I will be starting another series very soon. Don’t worry, it’s going to be a lot of fun and you are going to have a lot of me around. Don’t forget to share how you will be celebrating your Christmas.
Remember, Ose loves you but God loves you more.
